What is the Legal Remedy campaign? A number of former members and other victims of abuse at the hands of the Mojahedin have begun legal proceedings against Massoud Rajavi to bring both civil and criminal charges against him. Should Massoud Rajavi enter the jurisdiction of any European or Scandinavian country, he will face prosecution. The charges range from libel to crimes against humanity, including the torture of several former members of the organisation. The people bringing this action are former members of the Mojahedin, members of other opposition organisations and other individuals who have been adversely affected by the Mojahedin's actions toward them. This is the largest action taken against the organisation in which such people have come together as witnesses. For further information click here. Rajavi is responsible Massoud Rajavi, along with several of his associates, has been identified as holding ultimate responsibility for all the activities of his organisation. The reasoning behind this becomes clear when Rajavi's self-proclaimed position is examined. Massoud Rajavi, in spite of his lack of military experience, remains the Commander-in-Chief of the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA) which is based in Iraq. He is irrefutably to be held responsible for the activities of the NLA and the resulting deaths and injuries of thousands of its combatants and of several civilians, particularly as a result of military actions inside Iran, backed by the Iraqi regime. It is these activities, performed on the whole by Mojahedin members, which have been identified by the United States State Department, the UK government and the European Union as evidence of the terrorist nature of the Mojahedin. We make no comment on this analysis since it is outside the concern of the legal prosecution. In addition to the NLA, ultimate responsibility for the activities of the Mojahedin and National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) rests with Massoud Rajavi. He is the ideological leader of the Mojahedin and President of the NCRI. It is possible, of course, that someone from the Mojahedin could be found who is willing to state on oath that Massoud Rajavi is not his or her sole leader. Similarly, it may be possible to find an NCRI member willing to swear on oath that the President of the NCRI can be elected to or removed from his position by a secret ballot of all the members, and that any other member of the NCRI could challenge for leadership.Iran-Interlink's involvement Iran-Interlink has agreed to co-ordinate the submission of evidence in order for the prosecution to be pursued effectively. In this respect we would urge anyone who feels they have a genuine grievance against the organisation, to look at the evidence submission page. If you wish to proceed with giving evidence you may do so in the following ways:
