State Department
Amends Terrorist Designation of Mujahedin-e Khalq
(U.S. Department of State, August 15)
THE UK HOME OFFICE
today confirmed the failure of the Mojahedin's appeal against
proscription as a terrorist entity in the UK
A Home Office spokesperson
said today 'the Home Secretary considered the application
carefully and is satisfied that the MEK continues to meet the
criterion for proscription.'

Mojahedin lose legal bid
The Mojahedin lost its legal bid to challenge the organisation's
inclusion in the UK's proscribed organisations list under the
Terrorism
Act 2000.
Although the arguments put forward had merit, the judge felt that
appealing to the Proscribed
Organisation's Appeals Committee (POAC) was the correct way to proceed.
POAC's judgement is expected toward the end
of the year. Iran-Interlink.
Amnesty International action -
Said Masouri October 2002
Said Masouri has been sentenced to death in Iran for his involvement in
a 'military mission' for the Mojahedin.
