Ms. Farah Karimi, member of Netherlands
parliament from leftist of the Greens was a member of MKO in 80s; an
organization which is a criminal from her point of view.
This organization is in the terror list of the US and
the EU.
Ms. Karimi published her book “The Secret of Fire” this week, in which she
discusses her relation with Mojahedin-e Khalq.
Ms. Farah Karimi joined to Ayatollah Khomeini’s revolution in 1979. She
believed in a socialist interpretation of Islam. She joined Mojahedin by her
husband, Faroogh. MKO involved in a bloody power struggle with Islamic
Republic and she continued supporting Mojahedin after her escape to Europe
in 1983. In 1986, she cut all her relations with the organization. Since
1998, she is a member of Parliament in Netherlands from the leftist party of
the Greens. Ms. Femke Halsma, leader of the Greens, says:
“I believe that Ms. Farah Karimi writes about Mojahedin-e Khalq very
honestly. She stays away from Mojahedin-e Khalq and believes that
Mojahedin-e Khalq has become a criminal organization.”
Mr. Hans Von Balen, Liberal Democrat member says that in his view Ms. Farah
Karimi has written very bravely about her past relations with Mojahedin.
Criticizing the past is a brave act and other politicians should follow this
model.
The following has been taken from Ms. Karimi’s book:
“After the first operation I understood the situation they were in. But due
to my love toward my husband, Faroogh, I continued working with them. I
believed that the regime understands no language except violence. I resorted
to this strategy since there was no alternative.
I left the organization since I couldn’t match myself with their methods. I
was tired of living in isolated conditions and I was concerned about my son,
Homan. I hated using human beings. Insulting the personality in Mojahedin
and unending praise for the leadership had deprived me of my life.
They told me to sign a letter, which said that I was no longer a member of
resistance and that I didn’t have the ability to continue with the struggle,
and that I would reveal nothing about Mojahedin otherwise Mojahedin have the
right to punish me in the way they wanted. I didn’t hesitate and signed it
immediately.”
Asked whether she’s is afraid from Mojahedin, she said that she has no fear
adding that “Mojahedin are campaigning in Europe to lift their name from
terror list. If they perform a terrorist operation against me, it will be
evidence against them.”
