Europe's Position

Solana's spokesperson: MKO is a terrorist group

Brussels, April 30, IRNA -- The European Union continues to regard the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MKO) group as a terrorist organization, said an EU official Wednesday.
"For the EU the MKO continues to be a terrorist group. There has been no change in the decision," Cristina Gallach, spokeswoman for EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana told IRNA.
Therefore this consideration continues to be the policy of the EU regardless of what has been going on in Iraq in recent weeks, she added.
The EU last year included the MKO on its list of terrorist groups.
After the war on Iraq, the US has made a deal with the MKO, known as Munafiqin (hypocrites) in Iran, allowing them to keep their weaponry and bases inside Iraq.
The US also considers the MKO a terrorist organization.
