the beginning of Saddam’s trial, other aspects of military cooperation
between Saddam and Mojahedin-e khalq will possibly be revealed. This would
happen in the case that the court, apart from the quantity of committed
crimes, considers whole crimes committed by Saddam Hussein and his allies.
It seems that Saddam’s war spies will also be brought to the court if the
process goes on with this situation. Karim Haghi talks about military
cooperation and espionage activities of the Mojahedin for the Ba'ath army: “MKO also installed tapping devices in border areas. They gathered all wireless communications of the Iranian forces and decoded them for the Iraqis. This process led to a point where the MKO turned to Iraq’s fifth column. The Iraqis adjusted their operations according to this information.” Karim Haghi’s recent comments in Rang-a-Rang TV channel brought hysterical reactions from the MKO’s websites. Debate with MKO, still a taboo Karim Haghi (former member of the MKO) emphasized again on direct debate with MKO leaders and authorities. In an interview with Rang-a-Rang TV, he answered different accusations by the MKO and said that apart from any outcome he’s ready to debate with MKO leaders or whoever they introduce, on different issues such as torture, imprisonment, brainwashing and so on. In response to the question of why the MKO avoids debate and dialog he said: “this is MKO’s usual method. They always escape from mind [thoughtful] challenge. Instead, they take unofficial positions and try to minimize the possibility of revelations. Indeed, MKO’s stances are unique.” It’s notable that the organization, despite spreading rumors about the defectors and accusing them of being infiltrators, still tries by threatening, insulting and …to prevent defectors from contacting people. Part of Haghi’s revelations concerned such methods in Europe and recently in the US. Karim Haghi and resumption of revelations against MKO Karim Haghi, former member of the MKO, revealed new aspects of the MKO’s organizational affairs in an interview with a TV channel in the US. It seems that this is his first visit to the US. The TV interview took more than three hours and Haghi answered viewers’ questions. What was amazing was that Haghi behaved placidly in response to accusations and insults by MKO members. He was repeatedly insulted by MKO sympathizers. The politeness of Karim Haghi, and his patience, led to the protest of a number of viewers. One of the viewers, protesting to the MKO supporters, said: “MKO uses all possible ways to pose itself, but they never allow uncontrolled calls be broadcast on so-called Siamye Azadi channel. They take advantage of the democratic situation in the West to impose themselves on others.” In response to the comments of a MKO supporter, who said documents were revealed on his espionage activities for Islamic Republic, Karim Haghi said that confirming or denying information is easy in the west. “I have denied these comments and the authorities can easily verify my words.” Disclosing Joint Crimes of Saddam-Rajavi With the start of Saddam’s trial, Karim Haghi, former member of the Mojahedin-e khalq organization, disclosed Rajavi-Saddam times in Rangarang Television (Washington DC). The films of meetings between Saddam and Rajavi were shown in the program. Then, Karim Haghi revealed the internal affairs of the organization and Rajavi’s cooperation with Saddam in suppressing MKO dissidents, as well as the role of the organization in suppressing Iraq’s internal uprisings. He cited documentary films. As the trial of Saddam Hussein has begun, former members of Mojahedin-e khalq have started new efforts to reveal Saddam-Rajavi joint operations. During the TV interview, MKO agents tried to disrupt it by calling the program. This was thwarted by the awareness of Karim Haghi. He said that trying Rajavi and Saddam is the right of all victims of the cult. I saw MKO tanks driving over the Kurds In an interview with Saeed Behbahani from Rang-A-Rang TV in the US, Karim Haghi admitted again that MKO was involved in suppressing Iraqi Kurds in 1991. Referring to his presence during the suppression, Haghi said: “The MKO took part in tens of Saddam’s criminal operations, including suppression of Iraqi Kurds in 1991 in which I was present and I saw the mass execution of Kurds and I saw them driven over by MKO tanks and …” On the effect of such events on the defection of MKO members he said: “indeed, that was the point when I decided to leave.” It seems that revelations by Haghi, and people like him, can clarify the ambiguities in the trial of Saddam and Rajavi, as political-military allies. |
